It has been quite a while now that Ford figo aspire has been minting its share in the Indian market. The strategies and the vehicles have worked great so far. The company, however, sells a wide range of models around the world, with selection of different models for different countries; Figo is the one that is sold exclusively in India. In fact, the compact car Figo was the company’s first car designed and priced for the mass Indian market. Other Ford cars available in India are Fiesta, EcoSport, and Endeavour.
The Ford Figo Aspire is the sedan version of compact hatchback Figo, which has already been quite successful in Indian market. Auto & Generals brings you the complete review of the all-new Figo Aspire with its specifications, features, price, and everything else.
The Figo aspire is peppy in appearance and make people fall in love at first look. The sub-4-meter car targeted towards people looking for a compact and nice-looking budget sedan. There are three engine options available – 2 with petrol and 1 with diesel. Overall, the car stuffs the maximum within the minimum and can prove to be value for money if you keep your expectation bar a bit low. The top trim gets great features, though. Well, there is a lot more to this car than you get to see in first look. It is quiet and is composed on the road, too! Let’s get to know more about this compact sedan.
Exterior and Interior Features
The Figo Aspire looks good, with its front grille being the prime attraction, giving it a classy appearance. Apart from this, it doesn’t have anything extraordinary to mention here. It has a length of 3,997 mm, width of 1,695 mm, and overall height of 1,525 mm. With a wheelbase of 2,491 mm, it has a ground clearance of 174 mm. The Figo Aspire has a boot space of 359 liters, which is comparatively okay for a car of this size.
The interior feels rich and comfortable. Internal space has been utilized intelligently and smartly. Both the front and rear seats get headrests for comfortable longer drives. Rear has ample space for three not-so-big individuals, but longer rides can make things a bit claustrophobic if the passengers are well-sized. Front seats are comfortable, with ample space.
Interior gives you many small compartments to keep your day-to-day belongings, ranging from coins to water bottles to umbrellas, etc. About 360 liters of boot space may be ample for a 2-day small-family trip.
The Figo Aspire also gets features like automatic climate control and power-fold mirrors.
Entertainment and Infotainment
The Figo Aspire has everything you may need to keep yourself entertained and informed during your long and/or short drives. The top trim features almost everything you can ask for.
Additional smart technologies are the Ford MyKey, MyFord Dock, and SYNC with AppLink.
The Ford MyKey technology helps encourage responsible driving. You can program your key to a restricted driving mode setting that promotes good habits, such as increasing seat belt use, limiting vehicle top speeds and regulating audio volume.
The trademark MyFord Dock technology allows you to store, mount and charge your mobile phone, MP3 player or satellite navigation system, and to integrate these devices into the car’s entertainment system. Also, it is mounted on the dashboard, making it a perfect, easy-to-access position.
Furthermore, the SYNC voice-activated system lets you pair your Bluetooth-enabled phone to make calls, use text-to-speech technology, and play music – using just voice. You can even control SYNC with the steering-mounted controls.
Engine and Performance
As mentioned before, the Figo Aspire comes with three engine choices – a 1.2-liter petrol, a 1.5-liter petrol, and 1.5-liter diesel. The 1.2-liter 4-cylinder 1,196-cc petrol engine produces 87 bhp of power and maximum torque of 112 Nm; it has 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.5-liter 4-cylinder 1,499-cc petrol engine produces 112 bhp and 136 Nm of torque; it gets 6-speed automatic transmission. Finally, the 1.5-liter 4-cylinder 1,498-cc diesel engine produces 99 bhp with 215 Nm of torque; this also gets 5-speed manual transmission.
The approximate fuel tank capacity of Figo Aspire is 40 liters; the 1.5 petrol, however, has a higher fuel tank capacity, i.e., 42 liters.
While the 1.2-liter petrol has an average fuel economy of 18 kmpl, the 1.5-liter petrol can run just a kilometer less in same quantity of fuel. The diesel engine has an approximate fuel economy of 25.83 kmpl.
Some of the primary safety features in Ford figo aspire are SYNC, 6 airbags, perimeter alarm, etc. The SYNC technology in the unlikely event of an accident activates an airbag or shuts off the fuel pump. SYNC’s Emergency Assistance automatically calls emergency services and shares the driver’s exact GPS location. The Figo Aspire gets 6 airbags in total, giving all-round protection. It has two airbags in the front, each for driver and front-seat passenger; two pairs of side and curtain airbags for protection of backseat passengers. The perimeter alarm detects an unauthorised attempt to enter the car, if any, and triggers the alarm, flashing the headlamps and parking lamps, also activating the theft indicator on the instrument panel.
In addition to the above, the machine also gets Hill Launch Assist that temporarily stops you rolling backwards when making a hill start. The Figo Aspire also gets an Electronic Stability Program and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD). The high-strength steel cage within the body structure helps protect the passengers in unlikely event of a collision.
Price and Availability
As the vehicle is available in India, we would be listing the prices in Indian currency, i.e., INR. The Figo Aspire starts from INR 5.21 lakhs for base and goes up to INR 8.48 lakhs for top diesel trim. It is available in 7 different colors.

If you are looking for something new, Ford figo aspire is the car for you; but if you are looking for something already tried & tested, we won’t recommend the Figo Aspire. Though the car has a fresh look and is nice on driving and fuel economy, it still has to face a strong competition in the Indian marketplace, where its strongest competition is the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
Figo Aspire, particularly, can be a good deal for present Figo customers, for they can get good exchange offers from the company itself.
Other competitors are Tata Zest, Honda Amaze, and Hyundai Xcent. Frankly telling, all these competitive cars are better than the Figo Aspire in some or the other department, so you must choose wisely. Have a test drive of each, check your budget, and go for the one you like.
